Email migration services in Adelaide

Moving business email is one of those jobs that sounds simple until something goes wrong. We migrate Adelaide businesses to Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or between platforms — carefully, completely and with as little disruption as possible. Your mail, calendars and contacts come across in full, and you come in the next morning with everything working.

What is email migration?

Email migration is moving your business email — messages, calendars, contacts and sometimes files — from one system to another. That might mean moving from an old on-site server to Microsoft 365, switching from Google Workspace to Office 365 (or the other way), or shifting off a basic webmail host to something more capable. Done properly, your team barely notices the change. Done badly, email disappears and the phone stops ringing. We do it properly.

What we handle

On-site to cloud migration

Moving from an old Exchange server, POP/IMAP host or on-site mail to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.

Platform-to-platform moves

Switching between Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, or between any two email platforms.

Full mailbox migration

Email, calendars, contacts and folder structures transferred across in full — nothing left behind.

Domain & DNS cutover

MX records, SPF, DKIM and DMARC updated correctly so email delivers reliably from day one.

Minimal-downtime scheduling

Migrations run outside business hours where possible, so your team isn't sitting around waiting.

Post-migration support

We stick around after the move to sort any issues and make sure everything's landed properly.

Who it's for

  • Businesses on an old email server that's overdue for retirement.
  • Anyone switching between Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
  • Offices on a basic webmail host who want proper business email with calendar and contact sync.
  • Businesses that tried to migrate themselves and ended up with missing mail or broken delivery.

How it works

  1. A quick chat. We find out where your email lives now and where it needs to go.
  2. A migration plan. We map out the move — mailboxes, domains, DNS and timing — so nothing's left to chance.
  3. We move everything. Mail, calendars and contacts migrated in full, usually outside business hours.
  4. DNS cutover. Domain records updated so new email flows to the right place from the moment of switchover.
  5. Post-migration check. We verify everything's landed, test delivery and stick around until your team's comfortable.

Email migration questions

Will we lose any email during the move?

No. We migrate your full mailbox history — every message, calendar entry and contact — and we keep a copy of the source until you've confirmed everything's in place.

How long does a migration take?

Most small business migrations are done in a day or two, scheduled around your hours. Larger or more complex moves might take a bit longer, but we'll give you a clear timeline upfront.

Can you move us from Google to Microsoft (or the other way)?

Yes, both directions. We handle platform-to-platform migrations regularly — mail, calendars and contacts all come across.

Will our email address change?

Not unless you want it to. We move your domain across so your email addresses stay exactly the same.

Ready to move your email?

Tell us where your email lives now and where you want it to go — we'll map the safest way across.

No two businesses are the same — so nothing we do is off-the-shelf. Every solution is built around yours, and kept simple.

Our story

Built in Adelaide, since 2001

WaTo Consulting was founded by John Watson in Adelaide in 2001. Over two decades it's earned a name for tailored work across a wide range of industries — helping businesses of every size run more smoothly, work more efficiently and grow steadily, without blowing the budget or disrupting the day-to-day.

Emma Watson (née Dickenson) played a significant part in shaping what WaTo became. She brought real expertise and a clear vision for where it could go — expanding the business, bringing in new systems and fresh thinking, and raising the standard of how things are done. A great deal of what WaTo is, we owe to her.

Today it's all tailored, never off-the-shelf — IT & Digital, Business & Web Hosting, built around what each client actually needs. Over the years those areas have come together under one roof: our IT & Digital, Currency, Business and Web work (through Whosts.au) now all sit within WaTo Consulting — one team, one standard, looking after the lot.

When you work with us, you're not a client — you're a partner.
