E-commerce website builds in Adelaide
Build an online store around the way the business sells, fulfils orders and looks after customers, rather than a template with a checkout button.

The short answer
An online store works best when it is planned around how you sell, ship and take payment, before anyone picks a design. WaTo Consulting builds e-commerce sites for Adelaide businesses, loads the products, runs test orders on phones and desktops, connects payment and stock tools, and trains your team to run the store.
What does e-commerce website builds involve?
Most of the work happens before anyone picks a design: working out how products are grouped, how shipping is priced, which payment options customers expect and what happens to an order after someone clicks buy. We then build the store on a platform that suits that, load the products and run real test orders from start to finish. Your team ends up able to add products, run sales and process orders without calling us each time.

Who it is for
- A shop or wholesaler taking orders by phone and email that wants customers to order and pay online instead.
- A business on a hosted store builder that has hit the limits of its templates or add-ons and wants more control.
- A maker or trade supplier whose product options, bulk pricing or delivery rules don't fit a standard template.
- An existing online store where orders go missing, stock falls out of sync or checkout keeps breaking.
How it works
- We walk through how you sell now. That covers your product range, pricing rules, delivery areas, payment preferences and who packs and ships each order.
- We pick the platform and plan the store. You get a written scope listing product categories, payment and shipping methods, and any connections to stock or booking tools.
- We build, load products and place test orders. Every payment and shipping option is checked with test purchases on phones and desktops before the store goes live.
- We launch and train whoever runs it. Your team learns to add products, update prices and process orders, and we stay on hand for the first changes after launch.
Why WaTo for e-commerce website builds
- We plan around how orders are actually fulfilled, so the store suits the people packing boxes as well as the customers.
- The domain, hosting and store admin accounts are set up in the business's name, not ours.
- We can connect the store to the payment, stock and booking tools the business already relies on.
- Adelaide owned and operated since 2001, so the people who built the store are the ones who answer when you call.
E-commerce website questions
What affects the cost of building an online store?
Mostly the number of products, how complicated the options and shipping rules are, and what the store has to connect to. A small catalogue with flat-rate postage is a much smaller job than hundreds of variations with live freight quotes. We scope it with you and quote before any work starts.
How long does an e-commerce build usually take?
It often depends more on getting product photos, descriptions and prices ready than on the build itself. We set out the stages in the scope so you can see what is waiting on whom, and agree a realistic timeline before work starts.
Can you move our existing store to a new platform?
Usually, yes. Products, customers and order history can often be exported and brought across, though how cleanly they transfer depends on the old platform. We also set up redirects so old product links keep working for customers and search engines.
Which platform is best for a small online shop?
It depends on how many products you sell, how you take payments and what else it needs to connect to. WooCommerce suits businesses that want flexibility and ownership. We recommend the platform that fits, rather than one we always use.
Who builds online stores in Adelaide?
WaTo Consulting builds e-commerce websites for Adelaide businesses, including payments, delivery options and connections to the tools you already use, and supports the store after launch.
Does the card payment checkout need any extra security?
Since 1 April 2025, a shop that uses its payment provider's embedded payment form and fills in the simplest card self-assessment (SAQ A) has to confirm its site is not open to script attacks that could affect checkout. The PCI Security Standards Council says you can do that by protecting the page against harmful scripts yourself, or by getting written confirmation from your payment provider that its form does this when set up their way. We check which applies to your shop and help you get the confirmation or put the protection in place.
