IT asset management in Adelaide
Know what technology the business owns, who has it and when it needs attention before it fails at the wrong time.

The short answer
IT asset management is a current register of every laptop, phone, printer and network device: who has it, where it lives, its serial number and warranty date, with licences linked to the same people. WaTo Consulting builds and keeps these registers up to date for Adelaide businesses so replacements can be planned instead of bought in a rush.
What does IT asset management involve?
We build a register of every laptop, phone, screen, printer and network device the business owns, with who has it, where it lives, its serial number and its warranty date. Software and cloud licences get linked to the same people and devices. The register is then kept current as staff join, leave and swap gear, so it is still accurate a year later.
What WaTo can help with
Asset register
Record devices, owners, key details and where equipment lives.
Licence visibility
Keep software and cloud licences linked to the people and devices using them.
Renewal planning
Track warranties, contracts and sensible replacement timing.
Better decisions
Use a clean view of assets to budget and reduce last-minute purchases.
Who it is for
- A business that just lost a staff member and could not say which laptop and phone they had.
- An office where half the PCs are out of warranty and nobody knows which half.
- Owners who get surprised by a replacement bill every few months and would rather plan for it.
- Practices preparing for an insurance renewal or cyber audit that asks for a list of devices.
How it works
- We count what is actually there. We check devices on site and pull what we can from Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or your management tools, then match each one to a person.
- We fill in the gaps. Serial numbers, purchase dates, warranty status and assigned licences go against each item, along with anything that looks lost or unaccounted for.
- We flag what is due. You get a short list of devices that are out of warranty, past their useful life or holding a licence nobody uses.
- We keep it current. Starters, leavers, repairs and new purchases get recorded as they happen, either by your team or as part of our ongoing support.
Why WaTo for IT asset management
- We are often the people setting up and repairing the devices anyway, so the register gets updated as part of the job.
- Licences and hardware sit in one view, so a leaver's laptop and their Microsoft 365 seat get dealt with together.
- Replacement advice comes from how each device is actually holding up, which lets you spread purchases across the year.
- Adelaide owned since 2001, with a real person on the end of the phone.
IT asset management questions
How do you find devices we have forgotten about?
We combine an on-site check with the records in your cloud accounts, email system and any device management tools. Machines that sign in but are not on any list usually show up quickly. Anything still missing gets flagged so you can chase it with the staff member.
What do we need to provide to get started?
Admin access to your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace account and any purchase records or invoices you can find. A staff list with roles helps too. Missing paperwork is common and we work around it.
Does the register help with budgeting for replacements?
Yes, that is one of the main reasons to have one. Once warranty and purchase dates are recorded, you can see which devices are likely to need replacing over the next year or two and plan for them instead of buying in a rush when something dies.
