  2. We get the authorisation. You unlock the domain at your current registrar and provide the auth code (EPP code). If you need help getting it, we'll walk you through it.
  3. We initiate the transfer. The transfer request is submitted to your current registrar. Most .com.au domains transfer within a day; international domains can take up to five days.
  4. We verify everything works. DNS records checked, website loading, email flowing — we confirm everything is working before we consider the transfer complete.
  5. You're on Whosts. Your domain is now managed through our control panel with full DNS access, transparent renewal billing and Adelaide support.

How long does a domain transfer take?

Most .com.au domains transfer within 24 hours. International domains (.com, .net, etc.) can take up to five business days. We'll give you a timeline when we start.

Do I need to do anything with my old registrar?

You'll need to unlock the domain and get the authorisation code (EPP code). If you're not sure how, we'll walk you through it step by step.

Will I lose any registration time I've already paid for?

No. Most transfers add a year of registration on top of your existing expiry date, so you don't lose time you've already paid for.

Our story

Built in Adelaide, since 2001

WaTo Consulting was founded by John Watson in Adelaide in 2001. Over two decades it's earned a name for tailored work across a wide range of industries — helping businesses of every size run more smoothly, work more efficiently and grow steadily, without blowing the budget or disrupting the day-to-day.

Emma Watson (née Dickenson) played a significant part in shaping what WaTo became. She brought real expertise and a clear vision for where it could go — expanding the business, bringing in new systems and fresh thinking, and raising the standard of how things are done. A great deal of what WaTo is, we owe to her.

Today it's all tailored, never off-the-shelf — IT & Digital, Business & Web Hosting, built around what each client actually needs. Over the years those areas have come together under one roof: our IT & Digital, Currency, Business and Web work (through Whosts.au) now all sit within WaTo Consulting — one team, one standard, looking after the lot.
