The short answer
Business iPhones, iPads and Macs can be enrolled through Apple Business Manager and an MDM such as Intune, so they arrive with the right apps, email and security settings and can be locked, wiped or reassigned from one place. In Adelaide, WaTo Consulting sets this up and sorts out devices tied to staff members' personal Apple IDs.
What does Apple device management for business involve?
Each business iPhone, iPad or Mac is enrolled in a management system such as Apple Business Manager with an MDM, so it arrives at the staff member already set up with the right apps, email and security settings. If a device is lost or someone leaves, it can be locked, wiped or reassigned from one place instead of chasing the person for their passcode.
What WaTo can help with
Device preparation
Configure iPhones, iPads and Macs for their business role before handover.
App control
Deploy the apps and settings staff need without each device being a one-off.
Lost-device protection
Support practical locking, recovery and removal processes.
Fleet visibility
Keep a clear view of who has each device and what it is for.
Who it is for
- A business giving iPads to field staff, sales reps or clinicians and setting each one up by hand
- A team whose company iPhones are signed into staff members' personal Apple IDs
- A design, media or professional office running mostly Macs with no central control over updates
- A business that had a device left locked to a former employee and could not reuse it
How it works
- We list what you have. Every Apple device gets recorded with its owner, purpose and how it was bought, since that affects enrolment.
- Apple Business Manager and MDM are set up. We link your purchases to your business account and connect a management tool such as Intune or a dedicated Apple MDM.
- Devices are enrolled and configured. Apps, Wi-Fi, email and passcode rules are pushed out, and existing devices are reset into management one at a time.
- We hand over a simple process for new and departing staff. Adding a new device or recovering one from a leaver becomes a short checklist rather than a guessing game.

Apple device management for business questions
Can you manage iPhones and iPads we already own?
Usually, yes. Devices bought outside your business account can often still be added to Apple Business Manager, though some need to be reset as part of enrolment, so we plan that around when staff can spare the device.
Will the business be able to see staff members' personal data?
No. Management controls the work apps, settings and security of the device. On a personally owned phone enrolled for work, the business only sees and controls the work side.
Do we need Apple Business Manager?
For business-owned devices, yes in most cases. It is free from Apple and it is what lets a device automatically come back under management after a wipe, even if someone tries to keep it.
